MAXIMIZE PROFITS BY UTILIZING SIGMANEST TIME-SAVING FEATURES
In today’s scope of the manufacturing industry, the biggest hurdle to overcome is time.
Every company strives to deliver orders as quickly as possible, to maximize possible profits.
Time wasted during the beginning of the process is often overlooked, where creating parts, nesting, and right through to cutting can sometimes take days depending on the scale of orders.
Within the SigmaSUITE there are a lot of unique and bespoke features and modules that can be utilized to save time on various processes which in turn saves money. On average there can be a Time Saving of up to 75% depending on the scale of work and which features are utilized.
In this article, I will be focusing on only three bespoke SigmaNEST Features which could greatly reduce the time it takes to get parts in production.
- EXCEL STANDARD SHAPE IMPORTER
The first feature on the list is the Excel Standard Shape Importer.
As the name suggests, it is a quick and effective way to create, nest & program parts in SigmaNEST with overall information received from a custom-developed Excel sheet.
Below can be seen what the Excel Sheet looks like in Standard form:
The only information required per part is the Standard Shape, Overall Measurements, Part Name, Material, Thickness, and Quantity. Additional Information can be added to the field Remark, Customer, Work Order, and Drawing Number.
The parts will then be created in SigmaNEST, with all the information populated in the respective fields for each part.
This is not all the Standard Shape Importer does, the parts will also be nested and programmed ready to be posted to the respective machines for manufacturing.

By utilizing this tool, we saved customers an average of 80% on Time spent VS going through the normal process.
This Tool comes in very handy for Sales Reps who are out on the road needing to provide their customers with a quote or an estimate of sheets required to complete a job.
EXCEL IMPORT PLUG-IN
The Excel Import Plug-In is mostly effective against high-volume projects where many parts need to be imported at once.
Companies who receive a full BOM List from their clients, with all the necessary part files will know how much time this tool can save them.
All that is required is a detailed Excel BOM List and part files supported through the Plugin.
The supported file types are listed below:
There is an Average Time Saving of 85% when using this Plug-In, which is dependent on the number of parts and data which needs to be imported.
This is a very convenient and productive tool to have in your toolbox when importing per project as you only need to map the plug-in according to the BOM list and the file location from where all the DXF’s can be imported.

HD SUPERNEST NESTING MODULE
The last feature in this article has a double-edged sword cutting down on time as well as the material used.
The HD SuperNEST Nesting Engine greatly reduces nesting time in workspaces with an average Time Saving of 60% when compared to Manual Nesting.
On top of this, an additional 5% Material Saving can be expected as it utilizes the best Nesting Algorithm currently offered.
This module can be added to any of our Modular Programming licenses and will show results from the 1st Nesting done.
